“This is you, this is everyone. Everything Better.”
A scale that restores the health and appearance of your future digital self while allowing you to enjoy the journey to that self.
Who was the group?
The participants were professionals from different backgrounds who attended our Practical Foresight Skills for Everyone Workshop (10/11 September 2024).
What is the product/service/experience?
The Better. is an artefact from a world created during this workshop to show present generations how their perception has been distorted by chasing the perfect reflection of future health and wellness. The scale is a way to rebuild and secure one’s future well-being, focusing on nurturing relationships with themselves, their community and nature.
This object is analogue to allow people to disconnect from the digital twin long enough to think about the changes they need to make in their life for it to be better, not perfect. It explores the ideas of identity while tapping into the concept of sustainable growth and development.
What were they exploring?
The participants explored the convergence of rest and digital twins. The story ends with what humans need to ensure their future selves are whole and healthy. The scenario of this world moves the citizens of said world from depending on technology to trusting themselves to manage and nurture themselves, their relationships and the environment so, they have a future – a thriving future.
What trends did they start with?
The participants began exploring the trend of rest (active guiltless rest and 8 hours of sleep) and the digital twins of their future selves.
Who is the product meant to help?
This scale is for everyone. It is for anyone who wants to give their future selves a better life and health. It is for future generations.
What happened after the workshop?
A participant took the notes and learnings from that day and shared them with one of his students who created a 3D printed version of Better, imagined and co-created on that day. The artefact (above) was sent to us at the end of 2024, just before we closed for the year.
Thus illustrating how one can move from inspiration to ideas, from ideas to real artefacts that bridge the gap between the future and the present. This artefact illustrates how with the right tools, some imagination and a sprig of motivation, each and every one of you can build and control your future.
