The Futurists 2025

It’s time for our annual ‘The Futurists’ event – the most informed and exciting way to kick off the year for all entrepreneurs.

This time around we’re asking ‘What could the Future hold?’

In the first quarter of 2025, a year after pivotal elections for our young democracy, entrepreneur community Heavy Chef and trends analysis company, Flux Trends will cast a lens on what to expect going forward.

Dion Chang, Founder of Flux Trends, will present the much-anticipated 2025 edition of the Flux Trends annual flagship report, The State We’re In, designed to give you a diverse “tasting menu” of what the near and midterm future has in store for us all.

This report, Stepping into the Void, will explore how the world and South Africa are becoming accustomed to the newly elected leadership and explore our current and future state.

This keynote will be followed by Futurist and Partner at Flux Trends, Bronwyn Williams, sharing scenarios that explore the future possibilities that could arise from these trends for entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Finally, our 2025 panel is joined by Flux Trends Foresight Lead, Tumelo Mojapelo, who will explore our confidence about the future. This session will encourage us to claim and use our agency to move from places of no or low confidence to places of full or high confidence in the face of uncertainty and complexity. This session will also help entrepreneurs to know where they are to get to where they want to be whilst leading themselves and their teams into the void.
