Workplace conflict with Gen Z might be the current bugbear for businesses but Flux Trends suggests you also keep your eye on Gen Alpha. If you think tech savvy Gen Z’s are changing the status quo in retail, social justice issues and company culture, then Gen Alpha will surprise you. They have leapfrogged a few steps ahead.
Retail brands have already started speaking to them (“targeting” them would be foolhardy) and surprisingly the first brands to engage with them were from the financial services sector.
Many have already started their own Social-commerce businesses and manage their own income streams. Pocket money has morphed into “disposable income” and marketeers have to rethink the traditional ‘nag factor’ or ‘pester power’ associated with purchases for this age group.
They have agency.
